Making morning workouts happen!

I was on my high school dance team and we had EARLY practice (545 to be exact). After years of doing that I fell in love with working out first thing in the morning. I just love starting my day off right AND getting my work out out of the way. Sometimes waiting around for a long work out seems more tiring then the work out itself!

After a couple years of waking up early to work out it becomes a sport in itself. You see, I am an excuse maker, ESPECIALLY IN THE AM. So what do I do to keep myself from hiding under the covers and sleeping instead? I prepare, prepare, prepare for my excuses. Here are a few tips that make my morning workout outs WAY EASIER to get up for.

1. I go to bed at a DESCENT time, 930-10.
2. I sleep in my work out clothes and a put a sweater and my shoes by the bed. I put them on the second I wake up.
3. I fill my bag with the things I will be taking the night before, and chill some water bottles in fridge.
4. Run outta the house as fast as I can before I come up with anymore excuses not to go!

Morning cardio isn't always the easiest thing no matter how much I prepare. This morning, Sarah and I went up the Northwest side of Badger Mountain and it was tough for me. My lower back is really sore so it was brutal. I am still so so glad that I got up and got out there. Now I am in a better mood and ready to attack my day. Since I have been traveling the last couple of days, today I will be putting myself in lock down. I may or may not have TONS of homework to catch up on ;)

  1. Yep - I have to get everything together the night before if I want to actually get out the door in the morning. I feel great once I'm out, but it's so hard forcing myself out of bed.
