Candy Mountain

This morning when my alarm went off I wanted to throw it turn it off. I finally got up after pressing snooze three times and ran out the door. I met my friend Sarah at the restaurant we work at and followed her to the base of Candy Mountain. She has has hiked Candy a few times so she warned me ahead of times that it was going to make our butts burn.-prefect.

Most of the time, I don't eat before I go work out in morning but sometimes I drink a protein shake. This morning, I forgot that I brought a protein shake with me until I got to the base- that's when I decided to chug it. I thought I was going to puke it up the whole way up the mountain, luckily I didn't. I learned my lesson and won't do that again! We made it to the top!

Candy Mountain climbs to 1,391 feet and took us about an hour to hike. I have been hiking Badger Mountain for years and hadn't ever hiked Candy until this morning. It was a really intense full body work out. It has rapid elevation gain and is rated difficult. I left feeling accomplished and full of energy. After getting my cardio out of the way I felt ready to tackle my morning to do list and that's exactly what I did. We had a morning play date with two of my beautiful girlfriends and their littles. Terrance was soo sleepy after he trying to crawl in the crib- that's were he will be for a couple hours. Now I am off to study the day away! If you live in the area and are thinking of trying out Candy HERE is directions to the trail head.

POOL PARTY!

This weekend was full of firsts; we went to our first wine tasting ( 2 million pictures are HERE) and we went to our first pool party of the year! Friday was a beautiful day that heated up to be about  80 degrees- picture perfect pool party weather. It was also Grammy’s birthday and my brother-in-law Blake’s birthday which meant for lots of family and even more celebrating.
We headed out for my mom-in-law’s house at about one o’clock and took our first swim. Terrance is a daredevil but when he is in or around water it definitely escalates. He was running and jumping off the edge! He kept trying to swim out of my arms; he is a little fishy. He was laughing in playing with everyone who swam with him. I am so excited that the warm weather is here and the pool parties have started. I can’t wait to make millions of memories with my family this summer.

I hope that everyone had a fun filled weekend like we did! I am definitely recharged and ready to get back on the grind. We like to play hard and work hard because one isn't as fun without the other. Thanks for stopping by and checking out our weekend shenanigans. Happy week!

Spring Barrel 2013

We live in Washington wine country and one big event that goes on is spring barrel. It is a weekend event strung along Washington's wine trail; you get to sample wines straight from the barrel. Trent and I were very excited because we had yet to even be wine tasting and it was a blast. We all gathered at my in law's house and set out for our day in a hummer limo. We stopped at a few different wineries, danced, tasted yummy wine and shared lots of laughs together.

Now I have a new favorite white wine and I couldn't be more excited about it. I am so happy that we got to go wine tasting with such a fun group. I love them all!
